Will the Low and Non-Alcohol Beverage Trend Continue to Grow?
There has been plenty of ‘buzz’ lately about the low and non-alcohol beer category gaining in popularity among consumes of all age groups. Not only have the global brewers added new products to the category, but even craft brewers such as Brooklyn Brewery have jumped in with their Special Effects alcohol-free beer.
The questions still persists however if the category can continue to grow as alternatives such as legal cannabis, kombucha and non-alcohol cocktails seem to be taking share of occasions.
According to a analysis of the category by industry consultants First Key, it’s still too early to know just how significant this trend “away from alcohol” will be. While it’s unlikely the trend will simply fizzle out, it’s difficult to confidently state that it has staying power.
