Brewers and Wholesalers Descend on the Hill

Annual Legislative conference takes place this week

Nearly 1,000 beer distributors and brewer representatives are converging on the nation’s capital this week to advocate for a number of economic and regulatory issues of importance to the beer industry, as part of the 18th Annual NBWA/BREWERS Legislative Conference. The event takes place at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill.

Craft brewers will join representatives from wholesalers and large brewers to visit with their respective members of Congress.

On Thursday, the Brewers Association will host the third annual American Craft Beer Week Reception on Capitol Hill from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in the Longworth House Office Building-Room 1300. The reception is for Members of Congress and Capitol Hill staffers and will feature beers from Brewers Association Brewery Members, including those who have a congressional representative on the House Small Brewers Caucus.

The week will end with SAVOR: an American Craft Beer & Food Experience also produced by the BA. This event is open to the public and will feature craft beer paired with food. SAVOR takes on Friday and Saturday at the historic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in DC.
