Boston Brews at New Brewery

The Boston Beer Co. has finished extensive renovations and began rolling out products at its newly acquired Pennsylvania Brewery.

Boston Beer has put more than $50 million in upgrades to the brewery which once was home to Schaeffer’s, Stroh’s and Pabst beer, until closing down in 2001.

The final step was hiring back the more than 200 employees originally working at the brewing company to ensure a quality product.

“It’s bringing the brewers back to the brewery, bringing more jobs. We don’t do this lightly and we want to make sure that we’re making quality beer because you have quality people making it here,” said Grant Wood, brewing manager at the new facility.
