Boston Beer Co. has reportedly been test marketing a “remastered” recipe for its flagship beer Samuel Adams Boston Lager.
The company has seen huge growth in its non-traditional beer portfolio in recent years, notably in hard teas and of course the #2 selling hard seltzer Truly. Testing a small tweak to Sam Adams Boston Lager may be an effort to reinvigorate its leading beer brand by evolving to a less sweet and more hop forward flavor profile.
