Billy Beane to Deliver CBC Keynote

Considered one of the most progressive baseball executives in the game, Billy Beane popularized the application of statistical analysis to players, which has consistently allowed his Oakland A’s to outcompete clubs with much larger payrolls.

Beane was named Major League Baseball Executive of the Year for the second time by Baseball America in 2013, after reaching the postseason for the sixth time in 13 seasons. Best-selling author Michael Lewis chronicled Beane’s journey in his 2003 bestselling book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game.

“I think Beane’s story of using scrappiness, smarts and agility to beat the big guys will resonate with our audience of small and independent craft brewers,” said Paul Gatza, director of the Brewers Association. “We’re thrilled to have him speak at the 2016 Craft Brewers Conference.”
