BA Announces Bylaw and Governance Update

In light of criticism around the lack of response during the recent BLM movement, specifically regarding the social media behavior of a few BA members, the Brewers Association has drafted an updated association bylaws which includes a mechanism for removal of a brewery member. The draft bylaws will be circulated to BA voting members in the coming week for feedback during a 20-day comment period,

The association has also drafted a Code of Conduct for its members and the initiation of a complaint process.

“We have seen and heard the criticisms and questions surrounding the Brewers Association’s silence regarding racism among its members,” Bob Pease, BA CEO said in a statement. “We hear you. Our limited public response to date has not been sufficient for many but it does not equate to apathy. We would like to provide you with an update on the progress we are making.”
