AOB Announces David Rehr as Keynote Speaker at 2004 Conference

The Association of Brewers announced that David Rehr, president of the National Beer Wholesalers Association, will be the keynote speaker for the AOB 2004 Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego, Calif.

“David Rehr is a key link for brewers to get their products to
market,” said Paul Gatza, AOB Director. “As both the leader of America’s beer wholesalers and as one of the top 10 lobbyists in Washington, Rehr has perhaps the greatest awareness of the beer industry’s future from both a regulatory and a distribution standpoint.”

The NBWA represents more than 2,200 family businesses that distribute malt beverage products. Rehr is NBWA’s chief lobbyist, responsible for establishing and implementing legislative strategy that impacts issues facing beer wholesalers. Rehr also oversees the NBWA Political Action Committee, which raises funds to assist pro-beer wholesaler and pro-business candidates in their elections to the U.S. Congress. The NBWA PAC was named 12th largest in contributions during the 2001-2002 election cycle.

The conference will be held at the Town and Country Resort in April.
