AB Getting More Serious About Craft

Beverage Industry News» Beverage Industry Newsposted Aug 10th, 2014 11:05:49PM by Tom McCormick

Anheuser-Busch InBev is creating a new “business unit” to oversee the companies high-end products including their “craft” and imported beers.

The new business unit will be based in Chicago.

The announcement was made in an internal memo to employees and was reported on by Ad Age.

Chicago is the home of  Goose Island Brewing, which A-B InBev acquired in 2011 and has had strong success in building sales.

The move is yet another indicator that AB is getting more serious about trying to tap into the booming craft beer segment, something that both AB and MillerCoors have been slow to do.
