Anheuser-Busch has just announced that they will to acquire yet another craft brewery. This time it will be Devils Backbone Brewing Company of Virginia.
The purchase is not unexpected, as AB will likely continue to buy more craft brands in an effort to control the high end beer segment. The deal also follows what is now becoming a clear path for AB; picking up fast-growing regional brands in different markets across the country that have on-premise brewpubs or tap rooms and align well with the AB distribution network.
