Ballast Point Announces ‘Brewing for Diversity’ Scholarship

Ballast Point Brewing Co. announced its inaugural Brewing for Diversity scholarship program in conjunction with the UC San Diego Extension Brewing Program.

“We are proud to promote diversity within our industry by introducing the annual Brewing for Diversity scholarship,” the brewery announced. “The recipient will be chosen by the scholarship committee consisting of members from Ballast Point, UC San Diego, and the San Diego Brewers Guild Inclusion Committee. The scholarship will grant underrepresented students with the funds and tools they need to participate successfully in UC San Diego Extension’s Brewing Certificate Program.”

Each annual recipient will also have the opportunity to intern at Ballast Point to gain real-world insight into brewery production and operations and to become well-equipped with the skills and knowledge to enter the industry professionally.

The scholarship amount is $6,200 and the application process is now open. Applications must be submitted no later than Sunday, May 16th at midnight.
