BA Tracking Plummeting On-Premise Sales

Bart Watson, economist at the Brewers association pointed out a dire look at the impact of the Covid crisis in a blog post today.

 

On-premise is obviously taking the biggest hit with OpenTable posting daily year over year reservation data on their site. As of March 14, reservations in the cities they are showing range from -22% in Honolulu to -64% down in New York and Boston. Off-premise will likely not make up the difference with “reports from members who distribute in the Pacific Northwest of distributor orders being cut by 20% in the Seattle region,” according to Bart.
