A-B to Buy Rolling Rock?

News »  Major Brand Newsposted May 5th 05:13:48PM by pbrewadmin

Reports indicate iconic brand could return to American ownership

New reports indicate that Anheuser-Busch may be close to buying Rolling Rock beer from Belgian-based InBev.

Anheuser-Busch is interested in buying the iconic Rolling Rock brand because it sells for 16% more than the Budweiser and Bud Light brands, according to UBS Securities analyst Caroline Levy.

InBev has already indicated Rolling Rock is on the market. Rolling Rock produced about 850,000 of beer in its Latrobe, Pa., plant last year.

Dave Peacock, Anheuser-Busch’s vice president of administration, would not comment on the reports.
