News After Reopening Taprooms Shouldn’t Expect a Rush of Returning Customers Immediately

Atlanta’s Monday Night Brewing did a survey of recent customers to gauge when they through they would return to taprooms. Especially interesting since breweries in Georgia are now allowed to be open, with many restrictions in place.

Breweries in Georgia were allowed to open in late April, but it is clear that customers aren’t yet ready to jump in with both feet. Amongst consumers who visit taprooms 1+ times per month (prior to COVID-19), only 36% say they will definitely visit a brewery taproom in the first 2 weeks after bars, restaurants, and brewery taprooms start opening again.
..
28% of respondents expect a decline in their brewery visit frequency lasting at least 3 months.
