Headed to Denver next week for the GABF? Not looking too forward to waiting in line amongst the tipsy public for a one ounce pour from a server who knows nothing about the beer? Well, it’s not always that bad, but the cavernous concrete structure of the convention center requires a break from time to time. No worries. You can ditch the festival and still mingle with fellow industry folks while trying many unique craft beers. Pretty much around the clock.
Remember, these events are for industry members only (unless noted) and may require a GABF brewers tag or ticket to get in. Most do require a RSVP.

This 4-hour presentation features two dozen beer-associated flavors & aromas that are added to a base beer. Attendees learn to recognize these aromas and flavors, how they originate in the brewing process, and how they can be eliminated. Open to the public.

Export Development Program Reception
The Brewer’s Association will host international buyers and media. This reception is a venue for brewers to showcase their beers amongst international buyers, media and other US brewers interested in the export market for US Craft Beers.

Brewer’s Reception
The ‘formal’ kick-off to the GABF. Hosted by the Brewer’s Association, this event is perhaps the best gathering of the week. Why? Because everyone is fresh and rested having just arrived in town – except for the judges who have been in town for two days tasting way too many beers.

The Keg Ran Out Club (KROC) will be hosting its 11th Annual World Brewer’s Forum. The speakers will be Stan Hieronymus and Jeff Sparrow. Stan Hieronymus is one of America’s leading writers on beer and brewing. He is also the author of “Brew Like a Monk: Trappist, Abbey, and Strong Belgian Ales and How to Brew Them.” Jeff Sparrow is the author of the new BP book “Wild Brews: Beer Beyond the Influence of Brewer’s Yeast.”
Lots of food and homebrew to sample, most of which being Belgian-Style. Also have lots of donated merchandise to raffle off as well. The charity receiving a portion of the proceeds from this year’s event is Oncology Department at The Children’s Hospital.
