News Wind Storm Damages Hop Crop

A major wind storm early this week that howled through portions of the Pacific Northwest, eastern Washington and parts of Idaho has damaged hops still on the vine and ready for harvest.

Yakima Chief Hops—the grower-owned network of farms that is the country’s largest hop company—reports that the Labor Day windstorms damaged anywhere from 3 to 5 percent of the remaining, yet-to-be-harvested hop supply.
