Among the pain is the passion. Prior to the pandemic’s sudden arrival in mid-March, there were the usual assortment of brewery expansion projects and new breweries close to opening. After waiting the pandemic out for a time, some have decided to open their doors, despite the virus.
Pennsylvania seems to be a hotbed of openings with a total of 12 new projects set to open soon, ranging from a multi-million dollar transformation of an historic dairy barn called The Englewood to the Harris Family Brewery, which raised more than $32,000 through a GoFundMe campaign to help open the doors of their new urban craft brewery – and the first black-owned craft brewery in Pennsylvania.
