2020 Data Shows Devastation in the On-Premise

Nielsen CGA data, which tracks sales volume in the on-premise restaurant and bar sectors has released their data for last year. No surprise, the results show the devastating impact of the covid pandemic.

The year-to-date through January 4th results include the pre-covid period of January through mid-March, 2021. Of the 40 states included in the data, Iowa has the lowest decrease in on-premise sales through the period of -11%. Minnesota has the highest decrease of 68%.

Other keys states are;

Ohio:  -14%

Nevada:  -15%

Virginia:  -16%

New Jersey:  -17%

Missouri:  -24%

Connecticut       28%       -24%

Wisconsin:  -27%

Colorado:  -33%

Massachusetts:  -35%

Maryland:  -36%

Illinois:  -46%

New York:  -47%

Michigan:  -51%

Oregon:  -56%

Pennsylvania:  -58%

California:  -62%

Washington:  -65%
