I haven't seen this posted here yet and did some research after talking with our distributor earlier today.

Let's say a brewers prayer of hope to Steve's family and Sierra Nevada.

Steve is a long time friend of mine – one of the first people I met in the industry back in about 1983. I have held out writing anything for ProBrewer News in hopes that better news would come forth and because this has been such a blow to me personally.

I can’t imagine how hard this must be for those who work with him at the brewery and for his family.

Please, in your own way, say a prayer and send good thoughts to Steve’s family and to the family of employees at Sierra Nevada Brewing.

I "met" Steve via an old Compuserve homebrew message board back in the mid 80's. He unflinchingly posted the SNPA recipe for the group. I didn't actually meet him until years later, GABF or CBC. My heart goes out to you, his family, both at home and SN.
