So-- you come to an event and donate time and expertise, love and beer. What is a good thank you gift?
Can't buy all an Escalade or a dude ranch. Don't want another boring give away either
I had an idea of edibles-- but shot down as too girlie

Any great ideas? What would you want: WWYW

I've always dug food as a gift. Find some good, local hot sauces, chocolate chip cookies, Bluegrass Fest Tees, etc.

The Knoxville Brewers Jam would put together gift packs including all of the above and those cookies were awesome to find in your Hotel room at two in the morning.

Hey-- that was my idea. Pepper sauces from gringo to armegeddon. Jams from local lil ole lady. Goat Cheese from the mesa-- oh pardon, chevre. And for real love-- lamb (shipped) and Mole Brownies! Herb and barley crackers. But no! Not masculine and stainless steel enough? Maybe it was just the basket container. I could get my guy to weld something to hold everything together. Gingham or no gingham?

Real bluegrass-- isn't that really a contradiction? Like "real" fusion music from lost immigrants drinking new found hooch for the first time? You missed some fun and some sun at the ersatz festival!

I got a Leatherman as a thank-you gift at a function in my previous non-beer life - best gift ever - until I lost it... brewers always need a sharp knife and pair of pliers.

OH!-- then a Leatherman with remote or embossed holder. This is knife wearing territory.

I think a leatherman is a must for any brewer, but a bit on the pricey side. How about a Mini Mag LED light, I don't know if the batteries will ever wear out. :) I have been waiting for LED Mags for a while now. I mean how many other flashlights can go through a 90 min boil and still work like a champ?

I will wear my Leatherman and my mag on my belt, but i still can't be the guy with the cell phone on the belt, or the guy that walks around all day with his bluetooth in his ear.

I gotta vote on the Leatherman!

I do think that food and beer always go together, but that may be the chef part of me talking!!!

But ultimately, I think most people believe that if the gift is personalized, (i.e. matches them and their personality) it is received with appreciation. For example, I wouldn't give a great cheese basket to someone who has publicly proclaimed how great their gastric bypass went.

Have a great day,

John

Jackets and fleeces are inexpensive and can be used daily by brewers. I use the one my Pall Rep. gave me every day.
