Just setting up my 7BBL direct fire brewhouse. This brewhouse is about early 90's Pub direct fired setup. It came with a control panel for the burner with an old dial temp controler? Anyone have any sugestions on what they use or what would be a good digital controler? Anyhelp would be appreciated...
Thanks

Kyle,
A simple Ranco unit will do the job just fine at $70 - $100 and will last a while. Simple to install, program, and use. Also, they were made for such applications, such as actuating heating and cooling circuits. I swear by them.
I can give you more particulars if you like (model numbers, etc.).

The Ranco unit is a Ranco ETC. You can find it here, Kyle:
Ranco ETC (http://www.ranco.invensys.com/comm_elect.html)
The control circuit voltage may be a variable.........I would imagine you want a 110v output if you need it. Basically, it's a simple switch that kicks on when you set the setpoint is higher than ambient (or lower, if you set it up for cooling mode). I wired in a toggle light switch to be able to shut the whole thing down in lieu of resetting the setpoints. Its role is that of a master switch for the burner control circuit.
I would think you can find one in your area or order one online.
I hope this helps, Ky.
