At what threshold do you probrewers consider chlorine becoming a problem in brewing water. My water tested at 4mg/L. Are we talking a simple activated carbon filter, or should I even bother with these seemingly low level of chlorine.

This level should allow you to develop a beer with a lovely chlorophenolic flavour and possible aroma.

I will have to check, but I seem to remember 0.2 ppm max. Certainly we aim to chlorinate to this about 2ppm, with the intention of it being considerably less by the time it is used.

the levels of chlorine are 0.4mg/L............... not 4mg/L

this translates to .4ppm according to calculations.

What size and reliable brand name water filter would you recommend for a production brewery making 20bbl per week?

Iron is .011mg/L
pH 7.3
Temp 22.5C

just a little off.

I ahve checked some specs. You will be OK at 0.4 mg / litre. By the way this is the same as 0.4 ppm w/w
