Mike,
What color is the valve seal? Is it orange?

Our local seal guy tells me that the tassalini valve seals measure from a 32 to a 42 depending on who you originally got the valve from. Something about the conversion from imperial to metric and saying a 1 1/2 inch seal is actually less. With a minumum of 4 different valve designs in house this is a real pain in the ass.

Found this out the hard way since recently we recieved 2 seals for 1 1/2 inch (that the seal read a 42) and really required a 38, even though the valve is clearly a 1 1/2 inch t/c valve. The only bonus of that situation was that the 38 was $15 vs $50 for the 42.

Our local seal guy is Phil @ Specialty Process Systems here in Winnipeg.

What also might be messing you up is the fact that when the valve seat is new, the outer measurement (50.8 on your diagram) is actually tapered from the middle of the seal to the outer face edge. When the seal has been in place for a couple years, this is impossible to tell since the seal takes the shape of the interior of the valve seat.

Send Phil some pictures of your valve dissassembled and an idea of who you got your system from so he can nail down the manufacturer. He's really good at what he does, and we have less drips than ever in our brewery since we started working with him.
