Hey Y'all,

I'm looking for a few DIN to TC adapters for my old school Grundy tanks. I have looked at GW Kent and JVNW, but dont see anything that looks right.

Cutting off the DIN is not really an option at this point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

DIN is metric and t/c isn't. Most likely you're going to need to get them fabricated.

There could still be trouble as the piping most likely won't match up to make a sanitary connection. I may be wrong...good luck..

Cutting and welding is the only way to be happy. Anything else is a band-aid. Sorry. Best of luck!

Grundy tanks should not have DIN fittings! They came with British RJT thread.
Very different but both in inch dimensions.
Either way, making/using adapters is a pain. Why the desire to change them?

You should speak with the folks at JV and see what they can do for you. I would think buying a racking arm for a grundy would be excessive, but that is the main DIN to TC fitting I know we use around here (depends on fitting gender and where the fitting is located).

Chopping and welding would seem the best, less fittings the less places for stuff to hide or more likely to not get rinsed. A good welder can get you a nice transition from metric piping to US, probably for around the cost of a full blown transition piece.

RJT, not DIN, duh. My mistake. The only reason to not chop everything and convert to TC is the availability of a welder around here that can do a sanitary grade weld.

I'll call JV and see if they have any way to help. I have a couple of adapters that came with the tanks, but need to replace a couple.

Thanks everyone for the info.

If you ever get down the mountain toward Denver, you could check out Dairy Engineering in Arvada. We use them for fabricating adapters and sanitary welding. They ain't cheap, but they're good. They also have a pretty extensive boneyard. The # is 3034232332

Digging this back up...

Jeff- Did you ever find a sanitary welder somewhat locally (we're in Aspen).

Steve- Do you know of anyone else from the Front Range that does sanitary welding? I'm already getting a quote from Dairy Engineering...

Anyone else know of a sanitary stainless welder in CO?

-Chase
