Does anyone have a source for lights with tri-clamp fittings? We have Archon KA-100 lights on our brewhouse, and one needs to be replaced. I'm not thrilled with them, so I want to see what else is out there. Thanks.
Cheers,
Jason

I have replaced 2 of these with new lights from Archon and the new models seal much better. They seal just like a TC connection, The old ones would leak. Make sure you get the right voltage and TC connection size as they have many models. Archon also sells other parts so they are good to have in your contact list.

Good to hear that the new Archon models are better than the old ones. Any other suggestions out there?

Anyone have a recommendation for light bulbs for the archon lights? We seem to be burning through light bulbs in our mash tun & kettle lights at an alarming rate...

Us too. I found out that they are only supposed to be momentary lights, and that if they are on for more than a few minutes they get so hot they will melt the wiring. I tried a couple of LED bulbs but none were bright enough. So our lights are on a timer. Still burn through the $25 bulbs pretty fast though, so I'm interested to hear if anyone has found a solution.

You need to have the High Temp Wiring (it has a cloth-like braided coating) at least inside the Light Housing or running the whole length if you're really good with soldering and shrink tube. It's pricey stuff and you will have to go to a Electric Shop, i have never found it at Lowes or Home Depot. The only time i have purchased it the guy told me i had to buy a whole roll of it for $300-$400 but after he realized i was a brewer and offering him free beer he magically came up with about 40' of loose stuff for under $10.
You can get the same (or at least similar) Halogen bulbs at Home Depot for 8-9 bucks. Now that my housing is sealed properly they last 2-3 months instead of 2-3 weeks, and i leave them on for the whole brew and during cleaning. Turning them off and on all the time will weaken the filament prematurely- moisture seems to have the same effect.
