boilers elect or gas

Hi There

I am looking at moving to a new site and can't decide between Gas or electric boiler. Gas is $48/GJ and electric is $23 for the equivalent BTU output. However I have been given mixed reviews of there respective efficiency?

Can anyone shed some more light?

Gas is usually cheaper--review your numbers very carefully. Regarding efficiency, gas is usually in the 80% range. Electric is 100%. Other than that, electric is simpler, safer, and requires less capital outlay.
