(already posted on Brewery Operation -sorry... need help badly)

----

I often get a E2 error mesage on my Ranco controler. It usppose to mean "Check all settings and correct if necessary" but... what does that mean, really?

The only way I work around the problem is by unplugging the device for a few seconds and plug it back, but this time it wont work. AND I NEED TO CRASH MY BEEEER

All my settings are the same as they've always been, and it's only programmed for cooling, so no possible conflicts.

Please help

It might just be a short in the system. I would check for loose wires or obivous missing wires first, and then on to a system resetand check fuses, if there are any. If it is not that, then it might just be a bad controller.

For a short-term solution, couldn't you just bypass the ranco and let the glycol flow, then shut it off manually? You could crash the beer and work on the ranco at the same time.

i had the same error with my ranco controller on my beer line chiller.
turned it off a couple times and it reset, but after awhile a wire burned up in the junction box. had to replace a wire nut and splice in a new piece of wire.

check the wiring for corrosion.

That's what I did this morning, having a manual dial/switch on the solanoid valve.

Funny how does problems seem to pop up on Fridays....

My controller would give me a signal (temperature reading) for at least a few seconds when I plugued it back before going on "E2" but now it's completely irresponsive . I'll replace all wires and see what happens.

Thanks everyone,
