According to an article from Best Malz, the 2008 Barley crop was a good one. Here a further synopsis:
-due to expectations of a good crop, buyers have waited. As such, while beginning July prices for Barley were 182.50€, they are now at 165€/ton. Handlers talk only of prices under 140€/ton now.
-due to the lower prices, demand is expected to go up again.
I hope this news continues and translates eventually to lower Malt prices.....or at least a price plateau.
