Famous Abbey brewery damaged by fire
Monks producing one of the world’s most respected beers were forced to flee a fire which broke out at a Belgian abbey.
It was reported that none of the precious Rochefort 10 beer was harmed in the blaze and the monks escaped uninjured.
Monks are said to have been enjoying their evening meal when the fire broke out at the abbey of Notre Dame de Saint Remy-Rochefort.
The 13th century abbey was immediately evacuated.
A spokesperson said it would be possible to resume production within a few days.
