February 25, 2012 - Fort Worth, Texas, United States Third Annual Barley Wine Experience Flying Saucer Draught Emporium will host the Third Annual Barley Wine Experience, featuring a selection of barley wines from several different breweries, Saturday, Feb. 25 beginning at 11 a.m. at its downtown location in Sundance Square.
The Saucer will have a large variety of draft and bottled barley wine selections available throughout the day beginning at 11 a.m. Barley wines will be available until supplies run out. The event will feature a special draft wall, located on the Saucer’s lower patio, which will feature seven draft barley wines from seven different craft breweries. This special draft wall will include the following barley wines: Brooklyn Brewery Monster Ale; Left Hand Brewing Widdershins; Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Bigfoot Ale; Real Ale Kraken from the Mysterium Vernum series; Live Oak Old Tree Hugger Barley Wine; Harpoon Leviathan; and Stone Old Guardian BELGO. Additionally, the Saucer will serve several barley wines by the bottle from the main bar inside, including Great Divide Brewing Company Old Ruffian; Real Ales Sisyphus 2011; Avery Brewing Hog Heaven; Anchor Brewing Old Foghorn; Santa Fe Brewing Company Chicken Killer; Lagunitas Brewing Olde Gnarley Wine; and Mendocino Brewing Imperial Series Barleywine.
Guests also will be able to order food items from the Hungry Farmer Plates menu, which feature barley wine pairing options for guests looking for a bite to eat during their barley wine experience. For example, their Whiskey Cheddar, English Cotswold, Humboldt Fog Blue Brie and the Blue Marble selections are all perfectly suited matches with many of these barley wines. Plates are available for $10.99 for a choice of three or $15.99 for five selections off the Hungry Farmer menu.
Admission is free, but beer and food prices vary. Early arrival is suggested in order to sample all varieties of barley wine.
