Corona Breaks All-Time Record for Imports in 2004
Jan 26, 2005 - Corona Extra posted record sales in 2004 with a projected 97 million cases
of depletions in the U.S. This sales volume is a first for any imported beer. Corona will be on track to surpass the 100-million case mark in 2005. The Mexican beer brand has showed substantial growth in the U.S. imported-beer market over the past decade, during which Corona Extra has registered a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.8 percent, according to Impact Databank 2004. During that period, Corona's volume has grown six-fold. By comparison, during that same period the U.S. beer industry grew at a CAGR of 0.7 percent. Corona Extra's market success dates back further than the past ten years, though; since Corona Extra was introduced in the United States in the late 1970s, the brand has been the fastest growing imported beer in U.S. history. Corona Extra is currently America's #1 imported beer and the #7 best selling beer, overall, in the U.S.
