Beer News Real pint battle Dec 17, 2004 - A new campaign to put an end to what a consumer group calls "the Great British beer rip off" was launched
According to the Campaign for Real Ale, under the current law: * 9 in 10 pints are short measure. CAMRA is particularly concerned because the government is proposing to define a pint as "not less than 95% liquid." "The Government has promised to protect consumers from short beer measures, but the proposal for a 95% pint will have the opposite effect," said Mike Benner, CAMRA's chief executive. "CAMRA members will be lobbying MPs to get behind the campaign for an Honest Pint Law." CAMRA has set up an online calculator that allows consumers to calculate how much how measure pours affect them.
